The 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is about to get a significant upgrade, with Chevrolet introducing an all-new LS6 engine that promises more power, improved durability, and a nod to Corvette’s legendary history. Since the C8 generation launched in 2019, the Corvette Stingray has proven that American engineering can compete with the best in the world. For the past seven years, the Stingray has relied on the trusty LT2 V-8, a 6.2-liter engine that delivered up to 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. While the LT2 has served the Corvette faithfully, it’s time for a much-needed refresh. This update comes not only to the base model but also to the popular Z51 package, bringing more power and refinement to the table.

The Changes Between LT2 and LS6

Exhaust Systems
The LS6 will exhale through one of two available exhaust systems. The standard setup will feature four exhaust tips, with two exiting on each side of the rear bumper. The optional performance exhaust system will also have four tips, but they will all exit from the center of the bumper, a signature Corvette design cue.
Both exhaust systems will feature active valving to control sound levels, allowing drivers to enjoy a more subdued experience during cruising and a more aggressive, visceral tone during spirited driving. Interestingly, Chevy has confirmed that there will be no difference in power output between the standard and optional exhaust systems.
